Maybe if it's connected with the Intake Air Temperature Sensor pin on the ECU it could be logged with NDS ? Are you running a S14 or S13 ECU ?

S13 ECU. Is there a pin for that on S13 ECUs?

I finally fixed a major issue that's been driving me crazy for a long time now. Ever since I have had the supercharger on it, I have been dealing with fluctuating AFR's at cruise, accompanied by surging and bucking. It is extremely annoying. After fixing lots of little boost leaks, it was still doing it. I even bought a brand new, OEM N62 MAF, and it still did it.

So, my air filter and MAF are located in front of the passenger wheel, with a protective scoop behind it.

ImageImageImage

For a while now, I have wondered if the filter placement with the "scoop" behind it could somehow be causing MAF turbulence and causing this surging issue. So I finally decided to test that theory and made a quick and easy shield for the front of it with a sheet of aluminum. I zip tied it in place went for a drive, and it was 100% better. No more surging and bucking, and cruise AFR's are much steadier. It drives like a normal car now for the first time in a LONG time.

I've finally been able to lean the car out to 14.7 AFR at cruise and idle, which I could never do before. It was always closer to 13:1 because that's the only way it would run smooth. I've had more tuning success in the past week than I have had in the past year. It's running great right now, and there's still a lot left in the tune.

I forgot to mention this, but I switched from my 2.5" pulley to a 2.3", which is the smallest pulley that Pulley Boys makes.

Image

I'm now seeing 14-15 psi, and it pulls and sounds awesome. With the extra resonators on the exhaust, and the smaller pulley, the car sounds completely different than it used to. The exhaust is much quieter, and the supercharger is pretty loud over 3500 rpm. It sounds insane at WOT. I think I get like 8 psi @ 2000 rpm. By 3000 rpm, it's around 11-12. I'll try to get a video soon from both inside and outside of the car.

I am also really hoping to get the car to the local drag strip (1/8 mile) before they close for the season. I think I have about 3-4 weeks before they shutdown.

I also have a S13 ECU on my S14. The pin #26 is identify has Air Temperature Sensor on the S13 ECU. I removed my OEM IAT sensor when I did my setup. I might give it a try and connect my OEM IAT sensor back to see if it displays in NDS. I will let you know.

Yeah, please let me know if that works. It would be nice to be able to log intake temps.

Did some tests yesterday and I was not able to get NDS to see the sensor. I still need to look on my harness conversion (s14->s13) to see if the wire for iat is connected I am not even sure if it will work since ka24de s13 didn't have iat sensor if I remember correctly.

Well darn. I just looked through the S13 ECU pinout, and I don't see where there is a pin for an intake temp sensor.

Here are a few upgrades I forgot to post. I switched from a Walbro 255 to an Aeromotive 340 (for E85), and went head and did the direct wire mod with a relay.

I also added a Nismo FPR. I'm running 50psi static pressure (no vacuum). (Click to view full size)

This was a real surprise. I had to replace the upper intake manifold after this happened:

I have no idea what caused this. I just went to look for boost leaks shortly after I got the car running and that's when I noticed it. I replaced my original S14 upper manifold with a S13 one I had lying around. All is well so far.

That sucks man. I know before I got rid of my s/c kit I was trying to work on fabricating a bracket that would mount where the factory intake manifold support was and bolting it to the underside of the s/c. All of that weight + the belt pulling down on it had me a little worried.

Yeah, that's the only thing I can think of that would cause it. I was amazed it broke like that. If it breaks again, I'm done with this supercharger.

When I first supercharged the car, I modified and moved my fusebox to make room for the intake tubing and throttle body. I then cut and heated the fusebox cover to make it fit the modified fuse box. It fit the fuse box, but honestly, it looked like crap. Here's what it used to look like:

So, I wanted to make it look a bit better. I used the same plastic weld epoxy I used for the gauge panel in the dash, and molded the cover and repainted it. It's not perfect, but I think it looks better:Image

Thanks! I spent a few hours today installing my Whiteline swaybars and Energy Suspension swaybar bushings. 27mm 3-way adjustable front bar, and 20mm 2-way adjustable rear bar.

The whiteline end links are known for being a crappy design. In the front, I re-used the stock end links and used all energy suspension bushings. I set the front bar to the stiffest setting. In the rear, I used the whiteline end links because the stock ones wouldn't work with the whiteline swaybars. However, I used energy suspension bushings for everything except the swaybar to end link bushing. I set the rear on the softest of the two settings. I prefer to use the energy suspension bushings where ever I can because they feel stiffer and because they are graphite impregnated so they self-lubricate.

I just wish I could stop buying stuff for the car. I need to put this money into the house fund. Every time I get drunk, bored or depressed, I buy something. I just got a GoPro Hero2 that I ordered last weekend. Very cool little camera. But I really didn't need it. I also have a Kenne Bell Boost a spark on the way. Probably didn't need that either, but I do intend to use it!

Oh, and I got pulled over today for the first time in a long time. I think I was doing 53 in a 35. Luckily, he let me go with a warning and luckily, he didn't catch me 3 minutes prior to that!

Even if I was depressed, I could not spend money. I need to buy a helmet, 3 inch coupler, and rims. I can buy the first two, but the last has to wait.

It is great when you get a warning.
