S14 hy35 19# vs RB30 35R 16# vs RB25 6262 20#+ VIDEO

Post by sdaigle240 »

Really happy with this loss. After a 100mile cruise through twistys some friends and I got on the interstate in mexico. Through 3rd and 4th i was able to stay on his back bumper, at most he put 3' between us. we should be damn close # for # which surprised me. i was damn happy. my timing is still 2* less then enthalpy and fuel is in the mid 10s. dyno time is in the works.

me:
built bottom
hy35
18-19psi
Image

him:
RB25 Series 2 stock bottom
GT3582R
21psi
his dyno @ 18psi was 467whp 362wtq

Nice, I'm looking at going hy35, but I'm still on the stock bottom end, though I am running e85 so that should help ward off detonation. How's the spool time for you? details of setup?

Edit: Already seen your build thread just didnt look at your username.

its pretty good. not really practical but if you were to start at 2500 in 3rd, im pretty sure i could make 18-20 by 3500. starting around 4k or so it def takes about 500rpms to spool up. i think its a perfect stock block E85 turbo. on 1 bar I bet you make more then me at 20 and will still be safe. with all that said, i am sooo ready for more lag. ill take another 500rpms and 50+ hp please. i drift and still think 20 by 4k would be fine.

the build thread is a little scattered cuz ive had a few setups since 08 but on the second to last page or so is the up to date specs, just in case u only saw the stuff on page 1.

so this car is an RB30 now... cams, built etc. at 16psi, and spikes 20 from 6-7500

i ran it at 18 then 19 on the last run.

lined em up at about 4k in 3rd and hit it.

the hy kept getting strong launches with its boost responce. we ran 3rd and most of 4th and the lil KA did WELL, only had me by 1.5-2 cars (confirmed by his passanger)

should have video(s) soon. not great but decent, the camera car was a stock corolla couldnt keep up.

Damn if only you were able to get e85 and crank that baby up a little more you probably would be right there with him or edge him out. Plus e85 would make you spool up faster. I know it did for my 62mm turbo.

.while tru... if i had corn they would too.

ok i didnt get that video yet, but i did get another.

same boost but with a passanger. the RB30 is still there and the other car is a rb25 with BB6262 at like 20-23psi and high compression.
the thing is...i guess i kinda cheated. i brake boosted 4th, they started 3rd (miscommunication) which actually helped me alot. i had just previously ran the rb30 and was a good 3 cars back after 4th, i was bummed cuz i had just put my cams in but remembered i now had a passanger.
