did you read that on the aempower forums? at least we've got nothin to worry about though with the CBRs. Hey, on those AEM EMS settings that you posted, how did you figure out what values went in those setting spots? Are those the same exact settings that I should use too or is that more tailored to YOUR specific setup? Although our setups are very similar..

You can copy them all... the ing sync will be off any ways.. but you need to set up the timing any way... and check for timing drift (mine did not drift.) Its ok for the timing to move while you rev it up but once you sit at any RPM it should stop in the spot you have it set to. mine moves retarted as you rev it, but is you sit at one rpm it sits in the right spot.
As for the info about the twin fire it was on another forum, the guy took it apart and said it looked like it was made my MSD... Dont know if thats good or bad

Do we need to gap these down since we are running the TwinFire or are we good to leave them where they are at as far as the gap goes? I figured since we have a really strong ignition spark that we would be ok to just not gap them at all.

buy the AEM "pencil coils" (short versions) and then you can run standard style spark plugs (like NGK copper):kedbmx wrote:does anyone know the part number for the cbr coils? thanks in advance.

CBR954RR has 1.2 ohms
My 02 R6 coils have .6-1.2 ohms and fit #R5671A-7
"If you are just looking for simple, ease of installing, the EDIS-x setup with the FORD or Chrysler coil pack is about as easy as it gets. As close to Plug and play as you are going to get, other than the configuration hurdles within EMS/MegaSquirt/MegaTune of course.
EDIS is Fords brand name for this particular D.I.S. ignition system
LSx coils have the igniters built in, (electronic circuitry in the coils). With EDIS, the EDIS module itself is the igniter that triggers the coils, and the EDIS/Chrysler coil packs are just coils, no other electronics in the coil pack. In short, the LS-x coils will NOT work with EDIS-x. As I understand, Z-ya was working on getting LS-x coils working with Mega Squirt, as I understand it, that is more complicated than using the EDIS ignition for the 6 cylinder. Might be less hassle for the 4 cylinder? (Hopefully Pete or Matt will chime in…)
The CBR coils with just a "+" and a "-" only sounds like they are just a coil, i.e. no electronics built in. Just need to verify they are compatible with EDIS electrically speaking and the EDIS dwell is adequate for the CBR coils"
Not to change the subject, but there are other coils with close ohms.

Unless you run an SR ecu, you cannot run coil packs with KA ecu.
