01 maxima coils

Post by RosadoRacing »

I went to the salvage yard to buy 95 maxima coils as back ups and noticed a 01 maxima in the yard. the coils look different and probably provide better spark. I know efeezi used them but everyone else including me uses the 95 ones. 01 maxi are rare to find in the yard so I got lucky ill keep everyone posted on how they compare far as gap and boost.

Those are the ones I have. They have worked out great for me. I don't boost more than 21psi but I run .030 gap with them at 21psi to 8k RPM with zero issues.

I'm not going back to the dyno but 30psi should net around 690whp so i'm a play with the gap there and see what she likes, i'm racing next weekend at street wars there's only two runs so I don't want to Mess with it there ill leave it at .018 gap and run 25psi ill keep ya posted on how it goes hopefully low tens :-)

I took the car out to try out the Coils I tried them with ngk bkr7 stock gap I think are like .032 on 14psi 480whp no blow out at all ran strong I wanted to try them at 25psi but the plug may be too hot and gap to high i'm a try them at .020 at the track next weekend so far so good except traction on the street is non existent lol

Don't you wantnbto gap them down take it on the highway see how it pulls, if it holds?

I'm positive they'll hold a .020 gap at 25psi I didn't go on the highway cuz i'm low on fuel and have to get e85 Tom since that's when they switch over from e70 to e85 but my old 95 coils never Held up to 14psi without being gapped so I can already see a huge difference.
