How do you view these rods?

Post by JoeyTheKid »

I'm looking to pick up a set of Eagle rods with 4k miles on them for $200 and the owner claims their in perfect condition. The only catch is they are two hours away so I would be pretty bummed if I made the drive and they were in so so condition. Here are the pictures that the seller sent me, let me know what you guys think.

Best thing to do is to take them to a machine shop and have the ends checked; Dont want any issues down the line.

I don't like eagle rods anymore. I had a built Evo with eagle rods. One rod broke in half and punched a hole in the block. Now in the process of rebuilding. There are plenty that swear by those rods but I personally refuse to use them now

Spend the extra $137.45. Very few people outside of this forum would I trust when buying used internals.
You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windshield, it said 'Parking Fine.'

spending the time and money to go there to get them would amount to just buying them new in perfect condition. Not worth it imo.

^I second this and I agree with everyone that said to have these checked by a machine shop first, if you're planning on picking these up.
Even after all of the checks and efforts to pick these up, it may be cheaper, but personally, I would want to go with new rods just so I don't have to worry about the rods failing due to previous wear or damage.
