Re: Kamil's 95 ka-t build
My friend and I hooked up my oven in the garage yesterday. I'm officially ready to bake some bigger parts. I'm going to start with the rear suspension arms I bought some more powders as well: gloss black, full gloss clear and metallic silver and a high heat tape kit. I also completely disassembled my TB for a thorough cleaning. I'll powder coat it too, just not sure what color yet.
Here's the TB in pieces:

Re: Kamil's 95 ka-t build
Nope, just a old KA24 TB. The only pain in the butt (that I noticed) is the damned blind-pressed bearings. One came out with the shaft while the other is still chillin there. I have to get that bearing out if I plan on powder coating the TB....kacam24det wrote:is that q45??....did the same with mine took me 2 hours to put it back together the correct way lol

Small update:
Finally got the arms finished up. Holy crap, what a pain the balls this was. There is some fun to be had with installing polyurethane bushings, I suggest you try it! lol

Re: Kamil's 95 ka-t build
Time to update this slow ass thread:
Finished up the rear knuckles and finally coated the LCAs (they're @ NAPA right now getting the new ball joints pressed in). I dropped off the rear sway bar at my bro in-law's. He sprayed it dark gray metallic that I had left over from my Subaru job. I'm picking that up later today. Hoping to have the rear end finished up this week.

update: Sub-frame got installed last night. I need to drop one of my transmissions off at the shop to have all of the seals replaced.
I'm getting a bit carried away with the powder coating...

Re: Kamil's 95 ka-t build
Thank you sir! I've been in the garage every day ever for the past few weeks. Feels good to be back in the groove. I forgot to drop the transmission off yesterday because I got side tracked with this:signals13 wrote:it all looks sooooo awesome great job, i dont think you are getting carried away i would do the same if i could powder coat parts.

Re: Kamil's 95 ka-t build
I also found out that the ball joints I ordered for the rear A-arms are too big. The shop won't press them in as they are worried that the arm will crack. The hole is 41mm and the ball joint is 41.8 :/ I ordered another set from Moog that should work. That'll be here later today.

Get some quotes from your local shops and I'll shamelessly undercut them lolsignals13 wrote:how much bro? i would have to compare shipping prices vs looking for a shop here in Vegas.

Re: Kamil's 95 ka-t build
The rear LCAs are officially finished. I just have to refresh some of these rusty bolts and I'm ready to reassemble the whole rear end. Just waiting on the gasket for the differential.

Re: Kamil's 95 ka-t build
This ***** drift tax is getting ridiculous! I found the one and only supplier that sells these spindles....for $275 a pop! WTF?! Yea, I'll pass. I decided to squeeze a few more miles out of mine.
Seriously though....$275 per spindle????

Re: Kamil's 95 ka-t build
I just had a change of heart on the ES subframe bushings. I decided to go a bit harder with solid subframe bushing from ISIS. Ordered these today, hopefully they'll be here in time for the weekend.

Re: '95 Zenki KA-T build - subframe reinstalled
ISIS solid bushing are in! They literally took ~5 minutes to install! I placed them in a freezer while I went to get beer. By the time I got back they were nice and cold and pressed in with a few whacks of a plastic hammer. Getting the subframe back on the car was a different story. It was so damn tight around the 4 mounting bolts! Definitely didn't go back in as easy as it did with the ES ones. Whatever, this bi*ch ain't movin'!

Re: '95 Zenki KA-T build - subframe reinstalled
Going to be reinstalling the differential today. I got all new mounting bolts so, all the control arms are ready to go back on, including the knuckles. I'm just debating whether or not to retire the current half shafts to save myself a headache down the road.
Here's a pic of the diff. I think it came out pretty good!
Not sure what to do with the dangling wire of the speed sensor. This VLSD came out of a ABS equipped 240 and mine is non-ABS. Maybe I'll keep it if I decide to sell it down the road.

Re: '95 Zenki KA-T build - subframe reinstalled
Thank you! I ended up unbolting mine and gave it to my friend who will try to make a plastic copy of it on a 3D printer. Best plug solution I can think ofarob987 wrote:Everything looks good, loving the powder coat.I just cut my wire on j30 and q45 diff.had no problem selling a spare with cut wire but its up to you just make sure it doesn't dangle while on the car lol.
On another note, my friend and I installed my differential yesterday:
