700hp goals

Post by marsworld »

Input on Bosch top feed injectors 2150cc and other brands.(suggestions anyone )
1mm oversized valves, worth it or nah?

Current setup up
CP Pistons 9.1
Eagle rods
272 cams dual valve springs stock porting
1200cc side feeds
Gt3071
Making 548 whp at 19lbs
Full boost is about 38-4000 rpm

I'm looking to make high 600 to low 700 range in power with same spool or faster spool with no nitrous.

What do you think will get the job done?
I haven't been able to upload pic and videos but my Instagram is dr_jnastieysaid

I'm thinking twin scroll manifold and gtx3076

A lot of high HP guys on here run the Bosch injectors. Kedbmx is using them to fuel his 900whp beast. Duron is running them too and putting down some serious power.
Wiseco/Eagle, JWT S1 cams, BC valve springs, PT5857, ID1700 injectors, SR20DET ECU w/ Nismotronic, COP conversion with LS ignition coils, etc, etc...

Thanks for the input
A lot of people don't approve and a lot do approve. So this is good info because I need to here it from someone running a KA not random people. Haha

The only issue with the 2150cc is that if you run it as a flex fuel car, you will probably have a little trouble getting the idle to lean out on 91 pump gas. Duron spent a lot of time on his and was able to get his to idle @ 14:1. If it's going to be a strictly E85 car, this won't be an issue.

I'm planning to set mine up with a flex fuel sensor/tune, so that's why I decided to sell my 2150cc and go with the Bosch 1600's.

What are you tuning with? It CAN be done as a flex fuel car, but it may take a lot of fiddling to get it there.

The other reason that I decided to switch to the 1600cc is that I only plan to shoot for 550-600whp at the most, so 2150cc would be overkill for me. But if you ou want 700+ whp, you need them big 2000+ squirters.

The 1600's won't get you there. Even if you did manage to somehow pull it off, you'd be running injector duty cycle near 100℅, which is just asking for trouble.

4k full boost and 700whp isn't happening. Though another option to consider is a full counter weight crank and all support mods for 8500 redline e so you have over 3.5k RPM of boost.

If you want that kind've spool and power just go 2J.

anyways, that big of injector should be overkill for 700whp unless youre running e85.

You if you want to make 700+ and spool at 4K then go twin scroll twin wastegate precision 6466 or just go big the first time to a 6766 like I did. I hit 676 WHP @ 27psi.
761@33psi. Depending on your bottom end asssembly you can rev out to 7500 rpm safely Otherwise just shift at 7200 and still be fine. The only time I rev out to 8200 is when I race high powered cars on interstate
843whp @ 40psi

So is your redline always set at 8200 and you just shift earlier? I feel like I'd have trouble doing that with 700+ whp!

Its set to 8200. I just usually shift earlier when clowning around. Only when I'm serious I will run it all the way out. No need it pushing it that far for no reason. At least that's how I see it on a street car.

I hope this isn't thread jacking.. I have been curious What is required to support, lubricant wise, for higher power KA-T. What precautions at which hp and/or redline do we need to take -with our oil system?

Loaded question. There isn't an exact answer for that. Its always better to be precautious. A have a set HP Goal and then build it for 200whp more.

The engine on it's own was only ever designed to have a redline up to 6800 to 7200 rpm maximum. Stock head and cams and streetable all around fun 4 cylinder turbo should be right at the GT35R.

What people do to maintain optimal oiling is shim to oil pump to raise oil pressure, shim for those that don't know meaning adding small shims or washers that tighten the tolerance making the oil pump response improved and therefore oil pressure raised. A machinist should have their own method of shimming since in this case is based off of feel and prior shimming experience.

In addition, some extreme drag racing examples have made a complete dry sump or external oil pump and pumping system. Which is expensive. The best alternative to this is running an oil accumulator (moroso type brand) or an Accusump (a separate brand) that allows your engine to maintain a consistent oil pressure and will even add an additional amount of oil where vacuum realizes engine needs it. (thats not a verbatim how to/how it works just an example of how it approximately works).

Also, people have made 600hp on a stock long block ka24de but only due to the fact that they tuned it on a standalone gradually ramping the power into it and on BIG injectors and RACE gas. People have made over 800whp on stock valves and untouched ports so just using big cams stiff valve springs pistons and rods upgraded everything else is in the tuning turbo and fuel system. The engine in stock form is basically like a 4 cylinder ls vortec in the sense that you can get a stock long block from a junk yard and make 500whp whereas an ls alternative has potential to make 1000whp .... its just half the cylinders therefore half the power potential. By the way don't get caught up in the numbers game , most people will on their first time "close to **** their pants" with that kind of power in a car like 240sx or lighter.
