Oh okay cool..... what's it like? Is it difficult getting used to having none? I'm fond of my a/c.

Genuine stock. Did put a chain from engine mount bracket wrapped around crossmember to keep it from lifting.

So the time is coming. I have been getting the itch to work on the car. Just waiting for this damn kitchen to be done. My dad has base boards and crown molding in the garage plus I have two lawnmowers taking up space. I am looking for a shed to put on the side of the house so I can Move all my **** there to free up the garage. Hopefully by the beginning of November, she will be out and I will be able to tear her apart and assess the damage. Will keep you guys posted.

Been a long time since I posted/updated. It is much easier on youtube to do this. Anyhow, about 6 months ago, had some engine knock. Put the car down and finally opened her up about 2 weeks ago. Turned out cylinder 3 rod ran a lil slack. I then contemplated rebuilding the KA or go VQ. I then found a 350Z for a deal and jumped on that. Then I had buyers remorse and thought I could easily fix the KA and get back up and running. I then went back to saying I want to do something new and would part out the KA. So here I am now, about to post some stuff up for sale. She was good to me for 5 years and still has life in her. I may redo the short block with new rings, bearings, wisecos, and eagle rods then sell it. I could easily do this now and be back on the road but I want to try something new. Plus a built VQ will be able to keep up with all them boys now on the street. So that is my decision and I hope you guys forgive me.

Agreed. You've got lot of friends and fans here so I hope you keep this build thread going and don't run off to some VQ-specific forum.

Thats been my dilemma for a couple years now.... I have a decent list of mild KA-T upgrades and want to get it up and running, but part of me wants to do part out, I have tried to part out pieces in the past but with no luck finding buyers and another part of me wants something different (lots of L6 and V8 swaps these days) I want that rocky balboa/ david vs goliath type engine bay lol.

Your fortunate to be able to be getting those deals on VQs and the best part is you have 2 or 1.75.... lol either way man good luck.

I was looking online to find patch harnesses for this sort of engine swap and found one on a reputable eBay and VQ page but they are asking absurd prices which most likely explains the lack of seeing this swap... as in well over $1500 for wiring.... might be mil spec or some other fancy type but thats still a lot of money to drop on wiring.... Either way I am confident you will do well in this new VQ build of yours... you already have the basics of tuning on the M.S software and I imagine these engines make nice power/torque with forged pistons and rods and turbos.

Just get an oem wiring and get the nats disabled, you wont need the whole wiring from the 350z, just the ecu wiring, you can find it for 100$, and an Uprev Osiris cable to tune it

Hey guys, as I stated before, easier for Youtube progress rather than typing and posting images that will eventually get dead links. So fast forward 11 months and the VQ started up last week with a MS3 controlling it. I miss the forums tho on how personal it is with you guys. Glad to see older members still active on here and holding up the fort. Hope everyone had a new years and may you be prosperous and healthy...take care

Youtube is a great tool and i'll never deny that. I just can't stand the "vlogger" junk thats going on. Its wild that 10 minutes of rambling and an oil change and these people are getting paid by youtube.

/end jealousy.

Not sure if thats what you're upto or if its actually more of a video build thread but, hats off to you sir.

HAHA I know. It is a video build thread. Not like some jack@$$e$ who cry and complain when people point **** out and make another video saying "Stop Pointing Fingers". Trust me I know. Also, my videos are raw data. I do not have time to edit and do retakes. Frig all dat ****. If I say something wrong like look at the flux capacitor and I point to dizzy, if you know I meant dizzy means your are capable of working on your own car.
/end rant

What's up guys...just checking in to say what's up. I still scour on here from time to time. Been working on the VQ. On Valentine's Day, I broke her heart. I am now finally getting to putting her back together. Hopefully, in 2 months, I will be running again and hurting some butts.

My bad Nelson. She was making around 440whp/380ftlbs. The other motor I put in had an issue so now I am working on a VQ37VHR. Make 600whp stock block for a motor that cost me $380 from the yard.
