ka-t running rich, won’t idle or accelerate
I’m new to this site and i’m looking for some help on my 240sx ka24det turbo build. first off i’m 17 and planned on a low budget turbo build so please don’t criticize me too hard. i’m having issues getting my 240 to idle and accelerate quickly, when i turn the fuel pressure down on the regulator it idles better out but won’t rev and backfires a whole lot and is really not driveable but if i turn the fuel pressure up to about 36 it idles horribly but will rev and run decent but on wot it just backfired and bogs. i also had an issue with my maf getting fried by one of my plug wires so i replaced the stock dual cam maf with a single cam maf still located in front of the turbo. i’m only running 4psi of boost and the car seemed to in great before i replaced the turbo and the maf i’m also no where net finished with my build but i really wanna get it straightened out and running good before going any further please help

So, what exactly are you using to tune it, and what injector size are you using?

I would say before going forward anymore to back track and start fresh. Purchase some new spark plugs, part number 4644 which are NGK's. (Plugs are most likely fouled by now) Don't start the car until you remove the SOHC maf and replace it with a DOHC maf. (They are different). Are you sure you had a DOHC maf on there or a Z32 maf? Like Matt said above, what are you using to tune with? You will never get your car "straightened out and running before going any further" if its not at the point of being straightened out.
Example: If you got the turbo things slapped on and to finish your project you're eventually going to get a ROM tune or something similar then your not at the point of straightening out. Get everything working together then you can start straightening/improving your project.

One major thing about these engines (or any really) is to start out with the simplest fix first. Their are many pieces, but all that aside, it really just comes down to fuel and spark. Once one finds out which side the problem is coming from, just start checking off things from the list (starting with the simplest fix first of course).
