Turbo coolant lines
Turbo coolant lines
Anyone know what thread size the heater core fitting is on the block? I'm deleting the heater core and using the port to run my am lines to the turbo. I'm using the drain plug on the driver side of the block as a supply and the thread pitch on that is 1/4 bspt and I found -8 adapters for this. But now I'm stuck trying to find info on the heater core thread. Any info would be great.
Re: Turbo coolant lines
At worst come to worst, just get a barbed to AN adapter fitting and run a short length of rubber line.
Re: Turbo coolant lines
Well i figured out the the thread pitch if anyone needs the info. The heater core hose end thread is 3/8" bspt not npts and the drain plug under the exhaust manifold is 1/4" bspt. Will post pics of my set up later.
Re: Turbo coolant lines
You sure that’s what it is? I used an m16x1.5 fitting adapter and it threaded on for the heater core side.
Also do you have a part number on the fitting you used for under the manifold.

Re: Turbo coolant lines
welp since the op didnt respond, i bought a 1/4bspt fitting adapter and i will chime in to see if it works for the coolant tap under the exhaust manifold.
Re: Turbo coolant lines
Can you guys post pics of your set ups for the coolant hoses?
I am looking for the bolt underneath the intake manifold that everyone says they use.
Where do you guys feed and drain your coolant too?

Re: Turbo coolant lines
Hey what were your results? I bought a 1/4BSPT to 1/4NPT fitting. Then I bought a 1/4 NPT to -6an fitting.Pegasus wrote:welp since the op didnt respond, i bought a 1/4bspt fitting adapter and i will chime in to see if it works for the coolant tap under the exhaust manifold.
Re: Turbo coolant lines
I just ran a standard 1/4npt into that hole with teflon tape and it has worked since 2011 but only about 2500 miles were put on the car in that time.
Now I want to redo it with a 1/4bspt.
