400z proto

Post by R34SR »

What you fellas think?
Personally I'm not a big fan of the front end, but I must give nissan credit for developing this vehicle 100% on their own. The fact that it has a manual transmission is shocking and welcomed. I doubt it will be a supra fighter just based on the transmission but at least it should be more fun...I don't like the new supra but that's a whole different discussion.

The interior looks very nice, I like the rear...I'm sure the tranny will be strong, and the engine is already a proven platform. My concern is the actual chassis weight and dynamics since they seem to simply be using the old z platform.
And then there's the price.... Cars have become so good damn expensive these days that even if you have a decent job, justifying that kinda expenditure is hard.....I'd only consider it if a decently speced model can be had for around 35k....STI / camaro/ mustang money

Imma see how it looks after a few years on the used market...Also I hope they make significant improvements to the chassis , last thing we need is another q60 in disguise.

So after alot, and I mean alot of thought on modern day trends and the **** I see happening in this world, inflation and just how expensive everything has become. I decided I'm not gonna waste 40+k on any car.....I have my s14 and my stinger that I got a bargain price for brand new. I hope the Z is a smashing success and I'll pick one up used some day. Meanwhile there was a childhood itch I just absolutely had to scratch and I paid what I think was a fair price for a 2003 well kept Z06 50th anniversary edition . $21k private party all dealer maintained, every oil change record, 75k miles on the clock. 405hp from factory, 3100lbs, never modified 100% stock. limitless potential.....no supra or 400z can match a bargain like this and still have 20k in my pocket. A full 6 piston wildwood caliper setup front and 4 piston rear would run me $1500.....600+ hp supercharger kit $5500 so $27k to have a monster IF I decided to go that route......( Although I think I want to stay NA and make this my track car) can't beat it in my book...cheers!
