|
I found a set of centerline telstars in 15x8 & 5inch backspacing. Im going to run a 275 MT in this wheel.
However, I want to run skinnies up front, and centerline makes a matching set, but its a 15x4 with a 1.625 backspacing. I have no idea if this will clear my z brakes. I dont know jack about backspacing in inches. Only MM and thats on a street wheel with an 8 or 9 inchs width.
Anyone know what size skinny to run?

you have to worry about the face of the wheel. they are most likely liek welds and have a flat face. unlike many of our wheels that curl out with the spokes.
you wil probably need a 25mm spacer to clear them like people are with welds. _________________

I have a set of 15X7 centerline telstars comming in, Im going to mount my 26x9.5 Quick Time Pros on them. I would of went wider but they dont come with big back spacing.
Dont know what to do for the front yet, I would like to run them on my Z32 brakes... _________________ http://www.ka-t.org/brad.php

I have 2" BS on my 3.5" Bogarts... I would suspect you will need to run a spacer... _________________ Ivan

What backspacing? The 8 inch ones i found came in like 5 inch backspacing.
I think the come in 7 inch too.

I would of went with the 15x8s if they had more back spacing. I want my tires to sit nice and flat at full squat, so I dont need to set them up to tuck under the fender.
the 9.5s are fine on a 7" wheel.... and I thing a 9.5 with the right setup should net me some 1.5 60 foots. _________________ http://www.ka-t.org/brad.php

I am not running Z32 brakes... I am not sure that you can run a 15" wheel and the big brakes... The Z brakes have a HUGE caliper overhang that really limits the wheel you can run... I do have plans on getting some brake packages together for the 240 some time soon... First will be the drag package for those that run smaller front wheels and then a big brake kit for the people with big rims up front... We have been working with willwood on the evos and have some pretty nice setups for them....
I run an 9" rear wheel with a 7" BS with the 28 x 11.5 15 MT DRs... This BS on the 9" wide wheel is perfect for an S14.... My HKS Hyper II Drag coil overs are cranked all the way up in the rear for as much tire clearance as possible and my fenders are slightly pulled in the rear.. I have also spent a bit of time with a hammer rolling the fender lips and massaging other areas out of the way... I also had to trim my lower control arms slightly for some tire clearance... I still have some minor rubbing issues that will be solved soon.... _________________ Ivan

perfect. I think ill run the same rim, but with a 10.5 wide tire.
Should be good enough for me. Also, instead of a 28, i think ill run a 26 tall tire.
SHould be better for me and my clearance issues.
IM thinking that MAYBE if I get some h&r spacers, I might be able to run my z brakes and a skinny setup like yours. Im thinkin a 2 inch BS along with a 25 mm spacer from h&r will let me clear.
Another thing im thinking of is..with stock s14 wheels, you can still run a z caliper. Its close, but it still works. So im thinking that the skinnies might still work with a spacer.

It sounds like you want the Q45 brake setup.
It uses the same diameter rotor as the Z32 but with a 28mm thickness. They also clear the stock 15" steelies. If all you need is one good slowdown from high speed they are a good choice for easy wheel fittment. |
