Short story behind this build

I had a built turbo Miata I was having fun with but, wanted to get back to my roots.... I wanted another s-chassis. So I sold the Miata and picked up this coupe less than 24 hours after I sold the Miata. It had been sitting around for a couple years with a s14 sr that didn't run, picked her up and started working on her. Not too bad of a shell from a distance, but underneath she's not as pretty sadly. Fixed the sr (wiring issue) drove her at one drift event and she just wasn't what I wanted. Sold the SR and bought my buddies KA-T swap since he's wanting to go lsx. It's a s14 ka with around 140K miles on her, I sold his turbo setup (precision t3/t4, eBay manifold and precision 38 gate). I wanted to build something that's a little more responsive since I've been in the situation of trying to slide 3rd and just be outside the boost threshold.... No power there, lol.

My setup:
Stock s14 engine
AEM FIC6
Sti 510cc injectors
ISR 255 fuel pump
My first attempt at a tubular manifold
EFR6758 .83 exh housing (possibly a 7163 down the road))
Tial 44 vband gate
Basic cx racing FMIC
Remote oil filter mount
Oil cooler
P/S cooler
AN fitting on everything ( lol )

We'll see how far the 510cc injectors get me on e85, I'd be nice to hit the 300whp mark.

No kit, bought the flange off eBay and ordered a bunch of the weld els

Ace stainless / vibrant / eBay........ Depending on where you're at you might find them at industrial piping suppliers

Getting closer a day at a time, hopefully I'll drive her by the end of September. Couple more weekends of working on her and I'll start on the wiring.... yay :angry-cussingblack:

Finished my catch can and fired her for the first time last weekend. Found a couple leaks I need to address and still need to build front and rear bumpers. Slowly and surely, one step at a time..... Lots of loose ends to take care of

Just a quick update. I made it to the last local drift event of the year and other than a small oil leak I'm fighting with the AN fittings on the oil cooler she ran great. Quick spool (6psi @ 2,500rpm) and enough power to slide 3rd gear. I still want to mod the injectors and up the boost from the 9ish psi I'm currently running to 14-15psi. The 510cc sti injectors are maxed on e85 currently. Need to do a few angle mods over the winter, first thing is getting wheels that don't hit the frame.... I can't even get to the factory steering stops, lol

Wiseco/Eagle, JWT S1 cams, BC valve springs, PT5857, ID1700 injectors, SR20DET ECU w/ Nismotronic, etc, etc...

Building a second engine for fun and to have a spare for next year in case something happens I won't be down for long. This puppy is going hig compression. I don't know why but according to the internets ka24e pistons in a dual cam will next 11.2:1, this is incorrect. After punching numbers into a compression calculator I discovered that ka24e pistons will next roughy 12.4:1 compression. I also took .018" off the cylinder head which will bump it to 12.6:1. Not sure if that's too high for boost or not, but we will find out. Haha.

S13 ka24de - 12.6:1 compression
Head milled .018"
Ka24e pistons (-2.3cc dish)
248 intake cam / 232 exhaust cam
ACL bearings
NPR piston rings
REM polished valves, cams, rods oil pimp gears and crankshaft

Did you use paint or PC on those covers? (like your upper timing cover)

Mine are off the car and I can sandblast and paint at work, just trying to get a nice factory looking silver.
