I feel ya man. Between no money cause Im in school, and being gone for Army stuff, my build is going on 4 years now and I still have a bunch of work to do. The best way I have found to cope with it is just leave it sit for awhile to take a break from the stress of it. Then one day, maybe a month or ...

I have both SR and KA. For you situation, I would say stick KA, especially if you are gonna DD it. Anytime I need a gasket or any small **** for the SR, I have to order it and wait a week. Its kind of annoying. Beyond that, driveability at the 300hp level is going to be pretty similar between the 2 ...

What kind of injectors are they? You might need to play with the latency a bit more. I have a nistune on my SR car, and it has msd 96# (1008cc) injectors. I could not for the life of me get it to run properly, until I got a tip from someone on the nistune forums to use 955 as my injector latency set...

You have to use the supertech shim, because it is a shim-under-bucket design, instead of shim-on-bucket like the factory... why would that change the clearance?? no matter witch way the shim on bucket/shim under bucket/or solid bucket clearance is clearance. that was in reference to ordering the sh...

Engine builders: Need advice on valve lash
Ok. Here is the deal. I am assembling my motor, this is my first one. I am trying to do everything correctly, so I am taking my time and researching what I am doing. I need to make sure my thinking/calculations are correct on this issue. The issue is this: I have a 95 KA24DE motor. The head has the ...

as far as feel yes. as far as performance, I have no idea, the motor is not in the car yet. Lol i know that but is there SUPPOSED to be a noticeable difference in performance? haha I dont know that there would be a huge difference in performance, but some gains from what I have read is it al...

Nice choice going with the new AEM box! ;) i'm sure your more than ready to get that thing going! yeah, hit a prob tho and have to dissassemble the entire head. the valves sit too far into the head after the 3angle, and I cant get the valve lash within spec. I now have to take the valves out and ha...

they come as the 14mm/48mm, you will need to use the adapter they come with which will make them 11mm/60mm...however, the standoffs that the fuel rail comes with arent tall enough, so I had to go to a hardware store, find some aluminum tube, and make some custom length standoffs, IIRC mine were 2.5&...

so what shims should I order? just the smallest ones supertech has, put those in, and then bring the whole head to the machine shop? Or just take the valves out and bring the valves themselves to the machine shop? Im just trying to have to assemble and disassemble the head as few times as possible. ...

I think what Im going to do is run a tighter clearance, like a .20mm. Being the motor has yet to run, I think some stuff will settle down a bit after the first couple heat cycles. I just need to get it to something close so I can get the motor put together so its ready to go in and run. Once I do th...

Supertech cam followers/valve lash
So I have supertech cam followers, which are a shim under bucket design. When I got the buckets, there were no shims in them. So now I'm trying to set the valve lash. I have Jim Wolf cams, spec for cold valve lash is .010-.012"(.25-.30mm) My problem is, I cant get to within those specs with the...
