Re: Tyrell240 89 coupe build
Does it only happen at decel? If it goes away when on throttle and then comes back when you let go of the gas it may very well be the differential.

Re: Torquefreaks ka-t build
I'd like to be able to run E85 one of these days. I'll probably switch to MSPNP at that time though.

Re: Aaronlee97's Build Thread ** MSD Digital 6a Installed **
Another quick update, the IACV was not completely hooked up either so I had to modify my stock jumper harness to get it to work and avoid voiding the warranty. Don't need to press the throttle at startup anymore.

Re: Aaronlee97's Build Thread ** MSD Digital 6a Installed **
Got my AC figured out. The chasebays harness had the AC pins hooked up completely wrong. I guess I can't blame them too much though because there aren't many guys who have AC with this harness. Still, I had to switch two of the MAF wires as well. Considering the amount of money I paid for this thing...

Re: Torquefreaks ka-t build
E85. They call it corn because it's ethanol made from corn. Most guys don't run it unless there's a pump station around them somewhere, but it hold lots of potential. I really like how clean your setup is. I wish that I had the time and place to do the same thing, but unfortunately I have had to mak...

Re: Aaronlee97's Build Thread ** MSD Digital 6a Installed **
All right, so I managed to find some time to check out the timing. Base timing was good so I left that where it was, but with the TPS plugged in the car was idling around 14 or so at operating temp and 700rpm. Adjusted the distributor to about 20 and it's running fine now. No more bogging at all, bo...

Yeah man, she's the best. Hopefully I get to do more installations and posts soon. I do plan on setting up a metal MAF and a custom high pressure PS line. Will post those updates as time permits.

Honestly man I don't remember. Just focus on getting it running though. If you don't see any pressure after it starts, then something could be wrong.

Re: Tyrell240 89 coupe build
Put something long like a couple of straws connected together into cylinder 1 with the spark plug removed and turn the engine manually until it hits the top. Then take the distributor cap off of the distributor and pull it out, turn it 180 degrees and put it back in. Try starting it then.

I'd say once you find out the boost level you plan on keeping it at, just get the wastegate springs and set it to help prevent failure and overboosting.

Re: Tyrell240 89 coupe build
Man, that doesn't sound good to me. I know that some guys have just cut that section of the headgasket off since it doesn't hold pressure though. Need to be real careful with that.

Re: Tyrell240 89 coupe build
Yeah man, your car is going to be fun at 15 psi with that turbo. You're going to want more though. 20 psi is really nice. I'd suggest putting together an Excel spreadsheet with the purchases and dates and all that.

Re: Tyrell240 89 coupe build
With the Enthalpy setup, 740cc injectors, Z32 MAF, Walbro 255, good working FPR, and a stable spark you should be able to run 15psi on that turbo all day. I'd even run 20psi with your setup since I believe (not sure) the max efficiency of that turbo is around 23psi or so.

Re: Tyrell240 89 coupe build
Post a pic of that small filter and I'll let you know if it's just like the bad one that I used once. Didn't allow my turbo to pull enough air in and caused some problems.

Re: Torquefreaks ka-t build
Might also want to consider some cams as well. Either Kelford 272s or something in that range.
As for the clutch, I'd suggest going with an RB25 flywheel and 350z clutch. It's not as expensive, but you can get a stage 3 350z clutch that supports over 500tq easily.

So my wife is supporting me to keep my car! She told me to just put it in storage or something until I do have time for it. She's the best wife ever! Anyway, I'll be posting updates as I can. SO HAPPY!

Make sure you let your car warm up well using Rotella though. I'd recommend using full synthetic 0w30 for a basic build, but put on an oil cooler to help with the heat during drifting.

Recirc that thing man! I'm completely recirc'd even my BOV. I like the sound of the turbo spool and the power that is saved by recirculating the BOV.

Been there man. My wife has complained about it a lot. When it's running I take her for a ride and she loves it though. Working on getting the AC working again next.
You should be able to bead or bend a lip on the pipes where it's blow through though.

Re: Tax Dollars at work--Running with vid!!!
Hahaha! Sucks man! When I was using my MBC I remember hitting 17psi on my old tires and losing traction so bad I went sideways while going straight! The new wheels and bigger tires fixed that though. Make sure you tighten those pipes down nice and tight! I even flared my custom ones so they wouldn't...

Re: Aaronlee97's Build Thread ** MSD Digital 6a Installed **
So after messing with the car for a few days I have removed the MSD 6a and it is working well now. Apparently there is some issue I'm having when using it where it will bog down with throttle tapping and not have much power. Even with the ballast resistor on there it really wasn't working right. Not...

Re: Aaronlee97's Build Thread ** MSD Digital 6a Installed **
Ok so I hooked up the ballast resistor in line with the factory + ignition signal that goes to the MSD and it is working like it used to now but with the better idle and stuff. Next thing I plan on doing is regapping the spark plugs to .33.

Re: Aaronlee97's Build Thread ** MSD Digital 6a Installed **
Ok guys, so I got the MSD Digital 6a installed on a custom made plate with the Blaster SS Coil and Tach adapter. http://i1368.photobucket.com/albums/ag195/aaronlee97/IMG_4721_zpsb489899f.jpg The idle is smooth, and it catches quickly. The only problem is that there's hesitation when I press on the t...

Re: Daigle’s S14 - EVENT Lime Rock Park 10/5 pics
TPS checks out good, put in a new CTS, car idles great, it's just when throttling. Doesn't get rich though. I was wondering if maybe my fuel pressure is fluctuating or something.

Re: Daigle’s S14 - EVENT Lime Rock Park 10/5 pics
Funny that you mention an odd hesitation because I've noticed with each of my 240s an odd hesitation that comes about seemingly randomly. It will happen at various times while driving but more so when the engine is colder. What happens is the AFRs rise to 17 or so and I notice hesitation for a short...
