Ive heard the noise, and it sounds exactly like a diesel truck...but does NOT sound like rod knock at all, but the pitch is too deep to be something like valve tap. It is a very interesting noise indeed. I suggested a stethiscope on the block to see if we can pinpoint which cylinder the noise may be...

Before I spend 10k swapping an LS1 into a 15year old car, I would use that money on a camaro and already have the ls1 in there. Or use it as a downpayment on a c5 z06. Just doesnt make sense to me.

what about next time trying to speed shift instead to avoid your tip in problem? And that way there is no lag time in between shifts. I trapped just a hair under 109 at only 9lbs in my s13, so you're definitely missing something in power.

Hopeuflly I'll have some good news to post...

dsm guys are kings of porting. They port everything, TBs/Turbos/Manifolds/heads etc. They seem to do it with great success. We've ported a friends FP Bt28 for his 2g dsm and noticed a nice difference above 14lbs of boost with no other changes to the setup. Check www.dsmtuners.com and search it; plen...

I once ran almost straight water through an HPDE event (granite I was N/A at the time) and I saw a nice improvement in coolant temps.

yes, all s13s share the same gas tank design and location. S14 is different altogether, and also much harder to drop and change as well.

Lance did a small write up on his use of an FC oil cooler. It is great, especially for the price and is extremely effecient. Search his name on this site and you'll find a post from a couple months ago about the cooler.

Enjoy

300zx's actually used twin t22's, not t25s. Do yourself a favor and get a larger turbo, you'll have to push that little t22 to about 12lbs to feel anything

You had some nice runs the other night. I will bring my car back out there again as soon as I get it running. The reason you dont really see any ka-t's out there is we're all broken. And most of us do autoX/road race and a lot of guys do drifting as well. Usually drag racing is upsetting on hot/humi...

370s will not support more than about 9lbs or boost or so depending on the turbo, not reliably anyway. Also, make sure your injector is the problem and not a problem in the harness. As far as your compression goes, you're golden, thats perfectly fine.

very interesting way of running an external gate on a manifold designed for internal. Did you make the adapter flage yourself? Also, Id suggest upping to some 480cc injectors or something larger than the 370's. No sense in losing that clean engine to lack of fuel.

does anyone know if the ignition switch (where the key tumbler is) has anything to do with the amount (or power of) the spark that gets to the external coil? If there is a connection that is not ideal, would that cause a voltage drop to the external coil or no? I found last night that the external c...

well, we got the car to start today with stock injectors and stock ecu. We pulled the distributor out and checked it. We did have spark, but it was very weak spark. Then about twenty minutes later we checked spark again for the hell of it and it was much more powerful. We put the distributor back in...

well the rail with the 750cc's were leaking at cylinder 1 and 3. So we swapped in a rail with not leaking and working 480cc's. Tried starting, still got nothing. We checked compression while we were at it and got 170-175 on all 4 cyls. We also put the biki rom and the same 480cc's in another s13 and...
