Not quite yet, but that's what we're working on. We have the chip burning equipment and the software, just trying to get Craig comfortable with the tunes on the KA. [edit] But, if you wanted to bring the car and leave it for a week or two, he could definetly do it. Craig's a great tuner, just hasn't...

OK, typed in .org instead of .com, but maybe try reading the post a little more carefully. He's already registered there, we're just waiting for the moderators to approve him. We found the files on eccs.hybridka.com, just can't download from that wesite without being a member, and can't become a mem...

ECCS Rom tuning help
Hey guys - Our dyno guy next door is getting set up to ROM tune the Nissan stuff, but needs the address files to be able to read the tunes. He registered at eccs.hybridka.org, but they haven't approved his account yet, so he can't download the files he needs. If anyone has them and can send them to ...

HRT Performance now carries Brian Crower Inc.!!
In our continued quest to become the place to go for both machining and high performance parts, we have become a dealer for Brian Crower Inc. Don't have time to post prices on stuff at the moment, I'm about 5 motors behind , but I'll post some prices tomorrow or Friday.

It's been going great, extremely busy. Right now we're about 5 motors behind, and the thing I love about it is they're all high-hp motors. We have a 600 hp B16, 600+ hp RB26, just sent out a supercharged big block Ford that made 1100 hp, a supercharged 4.6L, and can't forget about the KA's, I have t...

Contacting me
Hey guys - Gonna be a busy next couple of months for me and for HRT Racing, so I probably won't get to read through the boards as much as I'd like to. If you need to reach me, e-mail, PM me, or feel free to call us at 919-309-4200. Just don't want people to get offended if they post about something ...

Haha, the FJ24 was a rally-racing beasty that was only sold in Japan and a few European countries. Very rare motor, and very ragged-edge racing type stuff. Hondas tend to have better combustion efficiency, and can run the higher compression with boost. A guy here in town was making 300whp with his H...

I'm a complete noob in this area so just take it easy on me ;) I was wondering,.. Do ka's have longer stroke than sr's? I know ka's have longer rods, does that mean stroke is longer? Does stroke length depend on crank design or rod length or both? Can one of you experts elaborate on the basics a li...

When I rebuild a motor, I resize the rods and the crankshaft, so the factory stampings are kinda thrown out the window. I have been using Federal Moguls lately, I've also had good experiences with Kings and ACL's. I know a lot of guys will disagree with me on this one, but I don't use Clevites becau...

Tell him to make a factory spec, fully counter weighed crank. I'd be all over it. Agreed. 91mm just won't happen on a 240 motor. Well, let me rephrase that, it won't happen for long. First time it makes any power the block will basically rip itself apart. Thin cylinder walls don't do a good job of ...

It's hard on a coil to produce spark with no where for it to ground to, and you don't want a bunch of random sparks arcing in the engine compartment. More of a safety thing than anything else. Disconnecting the distributor cuts the signal to fire, so it doesn't even try to fire the coil. Disconnecti...

A lot of people use Supertechs, I prefer the Ferrea's. I believe the PDM cams are ground from billet blanks, so you shouldn't need shims that are extra-thick. You will still need to adjust the valves, but they should be within specifications where you can still use factory Nissan shims. KA24DE doesn...

Yeah, gives the car a whole new character when it gets on boost, especially if you have a halfways quiet exhaust. It's definetly loud though, so it kinda depends on how the cops are in your area. If they're picky about noise, and you plan on boosting it on the street alot (even if you don't plan on ...

Here's what I recommend to customers: KA24-T Break-in Instructions 1) Fill motor with standard (non-synthetic) 5W-30 and install new oil filter. 2) Remove fuel pump fuse and spin motor over for 15-20 seconds at a time. Repeat this 2-3 times. 3) Re-install fuel pump fuse and start motor. 4) Vary RPM’...

ok so the main diffrence in the oil pump right? so if i got a truck ka ist have the same internal's like the 240 one's? so the pistons-cams-rods-crank-fly wheel-is the same right? thamks  The truck crankshaft is different on the front (longer for the different oil pump drive) and the rear (th...

Well, even if we disregard the distributor issue completely, the truck motor has individual main caps rather than the girdle setup of the 240, an external mounted oil pump, and a rear sump. The FWD KA's are totally different, mounting points are different, accessory brackets, etc. Stick with the 240...
