Well you have a boost leak my friend. (if you haven't figured that one out yet)Mamba wrote:well she runs. i switched to pre turbo and i have finnaly been able to keep the car running long enough to properlly set timming, only thing is the car runs supppper lean? 17-18- --- vac is at 10-11
Has anyone tried 15 min. plastic weld from AZ to seal up their maf with I took the square out and cleaned all the gasket of it. lightly sanded the edges for a rough surface, then i resealed it with that stuff and coated it thick over the top and seam and it hasn't leaked yet. I had problems trying to fine something that would stick to the ABS plastic.

How are you running the MAF and BOV?
My MAF is on the straight pipe before the TB. You see two t-bolt clamps. That is the MAF.

Check out my solution. Middle of page. Holds 20psi fine and actually held 50psi for about 10 seconds by mistake.

yeah i sanded and covered the whole top with jb weld. it seems to be holding on the side but not the top i decided to cover the entire top and more to the side.
one thing though... my vacuum is normal 20-22hgin but im running rich at idle. 13afr
and under boost, its 10. before it was good, i dont know what happened...
ill check in after i reinstall everything.

I used plastic epoxy that can hold up to 3000psi. JB weld does not want to hold onto the plastic.

ok ill try that next . i just got done coating everything. idle afr are back to normal. have to wait for it to fully cure so i can womp on it.
any one have problems with warm-up idle? it idles around 1500 and 20-22hgin of vacuum. then every couple second or so it drops idle below 1k and the vacuum reads 15hgin then it shoots back up to 1500.
onces warmed up, its does it but less severe. like from 800 to 600 every several seconds.
like it looses its rhythm. it was really smooth when it was na.

I ran blow through after reading posts on here on my R.S. enthalpy tune and things just didn't jive. On the dyno I made 211 whp at 7psi running PIG rich. I switched to draw through and with everything left the same the butt dyno is reading a minimum 20-30 hp gain. Just an fyi for mail-order tune users. For those with real ecu's blow through is the way to go still.

Max power. What is happening when you put blow through? Also, where is the BOV positioned?Ikera wrote:Seems like most of you are not using the stock MAF, is it because of it's MAX power limitation or it's flow design 3" inlet 2.5" outlet?
I've been trying to get N60 MAF to work in blow thru for a while now, seriously thinking about attempting to install the stock MAF into a blow thru setup instead

here is what I have been doing, but really I'm not planning for more than 8PSI boost so I'm thinking of switch back to stock MAF to make my life simple again
