runs a bit on the rich side but it works good
thats the same set up i will be running, but did he retard the timing or used at MSD BTM? thats the thing i am worried about. I dont know if i should save up and get the MSD BTM or just run without it.
and i am assuming he has the walbro fuel pump, right?

I too would like to know more about this, I'm gonna use the same setup aswell.
Will this set up be ok to run an atmosp. bov ( hks sqqv )

BTW:I think this should be a sticky
that is my map. ok so here is what i did to answer the 1st question. the timing i retarded about 4° from stock. and no that was not on a walbro.

as for the 2nd question. yes i am running an atmospheric bov

sorry for not checking this out sooner. i been kinda busy and dont really check this site that much. PM me or aim or MSN if you need to know like fast.

I figured I better post mine since I'm getting AWSOME gas milage with 72lbs injectors.

Setup: Crower Rods, Arias 8.8:1(Stock Bore) Pistons, Ported & Polished Head, Crower Cams at factory settings, and all the typical Turbo Stuff.
I'm getting 28-29mpg HWY
AFC2 Settings
Lo Throttle: 2,000 -3,600 RPMs -28%
Hi Throtle is currently set to 0's across the board but I'm going to have pull some fuel out because I have black suit all over the back of my bumper.

This kind of Gas milage on a built engine is very suprising to me. I'm about ready to put the car on the dyno to see what she does. I just thought I'd share my settings to help with gas milage.

I didn't see anything on calibrating the Knock. I'd like to calibrate mine to work as acutately as it can

Yes, could a mod please sticky this, I myself have asked noob safc questions, and this would stop them, when i asked that question somone sent me a link to this post, i read it and it answered them perfectly. I know the search button, but type in safc2 in the search and you will get a cadrillion pages of crap. Although im off the safc thing and am looking into, and will buy, bikirom, which coincidentally has a writeup that should also be stickied in my opinion. Not that it matters. Im not making orders, just saying this sitting at the top of the page would stop many useless posts, as would the biki write up, its gaining popularity will soon arise with monotonous questions just like the safc does. Just my opinion take it or leave it. Thanks.

Hmm, heres my setup.

SSAC Top mount t3/t4 mani
Small garrett t3, .42 a/r (turbo was free, don't know dick about it).
factory maf
factory ECU
SR 370's
Zeitronix Wideband
FMIC
running about 9psi in the morning (cooler air) and around 7-8 in the hot afternoon.
currently maxxing out my maf at 100% in any gear except 5th over 4500 rpm.

Lo throttle:
800-4000: -36%
4000-7000: -34%

Hi Throttle:
800-3400: -35%
4000-4600: -30%
4600-7000: -28%

Under full throttle at 9psi i'm running roughly...ohhh...10.1:1 afr's. lol, i know, something is wrong. i think i have a torn o-ring. I'll repost my settings after z32 maf and fixed o-rings.

awesome thread and very insightful. just one question, someone mentioned that the pin description was for a s13 and was different for teh s14.

anyone have the "SAFC-II Wire Color - ECU Pin # - ECU Wire Color - Function " list for the S14's harness?

Ihiryu wrote:hey i have a question too. i'm somewhat familiar with my safc, and the corrections are based on our factory injectors, thus 270/550=x, then x-1 to get our correction. Now what is that based off of?? For a ka the max is 550's on a safc, but on an SR the max is like 680. Is that based on ecu??

I don't know if that made sense, like my s14 has a jwt ecu for 550's and z32, does that mean that I can control bigger injectors with my jwt ecu?? So with my tune for the 550's and I bump up to some 720's would I be able to control them via safc?
The safc can only correct up to 50%. This means that the max injector you could have would be double your stock injector. 270X2=540cc close to 550 this means where you need to pull alot of fuel like at idle you might be running a little rich. While a SR has 370s stock. 370X2=740cc

This write up is very helpful to everyone running a safcII. I noticed a lot of guys running the SR 370cc injectors, but I dont recall seeing any %correction maps for DSM 460cc injectors.

Is there anyone here running 460's and safcII? I just picked some up off a buddy of mine from the states and would like to get them in the car running decent until I can get to the dyno to properly tune.

Any help would be great. Keep up the good work everybody

Purple wire - pin 27 - white wire - Knock Sensor
I've gotten every other wire hooked up, but how do you count pin's lol.. There are several other white wires in the harness and I don't know how to count the pins in the apexi picture.

http://www.apexi-usa.com/pdfInstallation/20.pdf

In the N-1 can anyone point out which one is the knock sensor (pin 27)

so i have a jwt ecu tuned for 490cc inj. and im thinking that i need a safc to smooth it out some more does that change the whole equations? is it going to change my stock injector equation from 270 to 490 then?

yes. so in theory you could run 980cc injectors with that ecu tune.

make sure you are counting the pin holes and not the wires. Even if the pin hole is empty you still need to count it to find the right wire.
