Hanging with an 02 BMW M5

Post by Shimiboi »

I was just cruising home on the freeway when I see this silver M5 zig-zaggin through traffic, driving like a dick. He would pass by then slow down to normal speed. On about the third time I decided to see what my S13 could do against a 350+hp BMW. He pulls up next to me and it's on! He drops down and I floor it in 5th. I kept up and we hit some traffic. Once it opened up, I drop to 4th and he drops down and before I know it we were at 130+ and I was stuck on his ass. Not a win, but it was nice to see that I can hang with an M5 with my stock block t25 @9psi :).

Grats, those e39 ///M5 are pretty decently quick, I'm actually amazed you kept up with him on a t25 @ 9psi, what other supporting mods and what is your timing and afr at?

I had an M5 in that class when I lived in italy. My S13 with 12psi (T3/T04E) would have beat it in a race. Those M5 are great for torque and total fat power band matched with significant handling and comfort/sex-appeal as well. It is, over all, a far better car than the 240SX. There are some 1000+whp M5 that are just mind blowing sexy. Being who I am with the finances I live by, the foetron is still my dirty street girl ;)

Running at 11.4:1 afr at WOT. Megan tubular manifold, 3" trust dp, 3" test pipe to 2.5" cat-back, Q45 injectors, walbro 255 fp. Nothing fancy. Such an adrenaline rush though!
