No time slips? Nah the car looks great. I hate heatsoaking in the staging lanes at the track. Most of the time I shut my car off and roll it as much as possible. So your just running open compressor housing right now?

Thanks for the comment. The car launched way better than previous runs mostly because I did not flat shift to raise rpm's or boost.

No slips. A Street Racing Made Safe event. Digs, 20 or 40 roll. I had my snorkel on before but took it off cuz I thought it was messing with my air flow. I switched to Q45 TB which helped greatly but never tried with snorkel. Yes, it was open comp. I did pulls the next day and it never got that high. But I don't want to hit the track again and have this issue especially with timeslips.

Hopefully I can go again soon. I want an actual slip. From the first run to last run, based on time stamps from the video below, it appears I could have shaved off one second from the tree to 1/4 mile mark. I also need to fix my 3rd to 4th change. I need to flat shift that gear.

Run an additional pump in the back. My friend has dual 250lph wally's in tank. Kedbmx has one wally feeding an anti-surge tank with two 300lph bosch 044's pulling from that. I have one 420lph Wally. I want to get a second and put this behind me.

Is this just a e85 problem? Other Guys running 93 making over 500 are still using 1 fuel pump.

With e85, you lose 30% of fuel. This goes for injectors and pump. It is no big deal tho.

Did some more testing with cold air vs non. Temps dropped about 5* but were overall lower than with it off. I then extended by dump tube some more and with the no cold air, temps dropped 20*. I was pushing 24psi in 79* ambient temp and after getting on her a few times, temps were around 120*. When I was testing in the video below, ambient was 67*. So I should see cooler times at night. I am going to make a pull with CAI on and see what happens when I get a chance again. I still want to get a new IC but I will see what happens with x mas money.

You ever thought about hooking up an intercooler sprayer? I was considering this last week. Remove windshield washer line from hood and run it down to the front of the bumper with a misting nozzle. Obviously not practical on a daily. But for a weekend car it could work.

Yes. I have spare ports to activate when kpa goes over 110 kpa and switch on a spray on ic. Use windshield wiper pump to a nozzle above ic. I never use my rear pump (se s13). The only issue I have is time.

Quick update. I put on the CAI and in 3rd and 4th it is good. But launching in 1st and 2nd, I actually stifled the turbo with the CAI and only get 15psi. It is a dodge ram intake tube that goes from 4 inch to 3 inch. I have a 3 inch pipe at the end with a screen filter. I actually felt it in 2nd more. I did a 20 roll in 2nd. When boost shot up, it pulled hard to 6k, then boost dropped down and I hit a wall. I then took off the CAI, and got around 20psi in 1st gear and around 22psi in second. I still have to tweak my wastegate duty cycle but I am seeing better results.

As for air temps, I looked at an old log from a year ago, and temps were only 102*. I recently rebuilt the HE351 cause I was getting oil from the thrust bearing. This probably caked up in the IC and is not allowing it to cool or even flow efficiently. I am going to clean the IC internally and hope all goes well. Will update when that happens but may be awhile. Xmas is here and xbox one is waiting for my son and I.

Got to work on the car but didn't get to drive. It rained today. I cleaned the ic. I had oil caked and could not see through to the other side. Brakes cleaner, gas, and degreaser helped me clear it out. I also mounted the ic in a v slant way with stock bumper. Most of the core of ic is getting air flow and it also sits away from the radiator. Hoping this solves my issue and I can get some decent power again.

Just an update. I have not taken a log but I can see a delta of 4-5* just cruising around town. Before it would be 10* so on a 75* night, I would see 86*+- just cruising. I also noticed a big difference in power. My afr's are richer so I am trying to figure out why this changed. Possible reason my bro in law and I figured out may be the oil inside of the ic. Not sure yet but I am getting like 10.3 afr around 27-28lbs. Fuel seems to be enough for now. I took the car out last Saturday with the wife and my son. She was on the phone. I took off easy in 1st, shift to 2nd easy, then punch it around 40mph, throw it in to 3rd easy but this chick went flying forward in between shifts. Makes me happy lol. I also was on the highway getting on her and she took a video. It really does not do any justice because people are doing 80mph so it looks slow. But after the run, I threw on Shadow Dash on my phone and MAT's were around 91*. Before after a run, it would hover around 100*. From the butt dyno, I know I am good. 4th gear pulls as well. You can feel it in your torso. I can't wait till the 31st to get back to the street racing made safe event to see what happens.

Ok so I went to change my slave cylinder. After bench bleeding the slave/install, I went to bleed. This damn thing did not want to bleed. I still had the stock dampener box on cause I never had issues with it before. After giving up, I went to remove it. The damn feed from the clutch master seized on the box. Luckily I was at my boys show and has a flare tool. After cutting line and using another fitting from the box, it bled. I can actually feel the clutch better although the pressure feels the same. Glad I finally got rid of it. I ended up doing a 2nd gear brakes stand for the hell of it.

I do not have car seats in there. I only had booster seats. My son is 8 now and daughter 5. Before that, only son could ride in the car since my daughter needed a car seat.

Yes, rebuilt the HE myself. Pretty straight forward. This is my second rebuild of a turbo. First was my 60 trim garrett about 4 years ago.

Small snap ring pliers, big snap ring pliers or 90* need nose pliers. That is really it. A next set of hands helps when putting the big snap ring back in on the comp housing to backplate. He is a vid I made. It is not thorough but should help you a little of what to expect.

You should be able to rebuild it. It is a retainer clip on the turbine shaft that needs changing. When rebuilding, I do not remove the inner snap ring. It is a pita to change.

Did you use a kit like this? I am probably going to get this one. I did order a set of snap-ring pliers.

Yup, just like that. I bought an HX35 kit for my old turbo but when it got damaged, I bought the HE351. I needed to rebuild the HE351 and read that the HX35 kit is the same. I then verified by looking at kits and cross referencing numbers.

I took some more vids last night. Pretty cool angle plus a 1st to 3rd pull.

I just picked up a used manifold. My CX mani cracked on the wastegate neck like my other old cheap mani. I have to repair it but I came across this deal. The mani is stout. Good material, design, and better than what I got now. Hoping I can get this on soon.

Funny you say that, my CX-racing one snapped in the same spot, however I did purchase their heavier duty one and its great. I am pushing 26psi on my car daily and no issues yet. The old manifold welds were weak too. On the newer one I did re-weld a couple areas, gasket matched it and cleaned up the horrible mess inside the collector, flows good enough for me.

Yea, most of them snap there due to the expansion of the metal and being braced. The metal needs to contract and expand with heat. I bought this mani about 3 years ago but only used it for a year now. I am probably gonna fix it for the time being because there is a race the 31st. After that, I will start working on the manifold. I am just happy I got a quality piece now and should not have to worry about it cracking. Plus the runner length is longer than CX Racing, so I should get better spooling.

Damn, long time no talk! Saw you were looking for my #, randomly decided to come on here today, assuming for the center caps. No idea where those are! I know that was years ago but I have moved since then, and you know how that goes.

Cool to see a bunch of guys still around and your car still going strong. That's awesome.

I ended up getting back into Mustang, bought a 12' 5.0 and it is now twin turbo. lol I was trying to update my thread, but it's locked.

I need to come around here more often! Miss this site.

Must be a defect. My wastegate tube cracked almost all the way around. Got it fixed at the muffler shop. It's took a beating and held up for what it's worth. Probably would last forever on 12lbs or less.
