Car is still alive and kicking, Finally stop doing other things and deiced to spend some money into the car again..

The twin disk took a **** so i let the car sit for white and lost some interest in it.. i was thinking about parting it and building a fd.. but i wanted to finish this project first.. I'VE replaced it with a white bunny for now. Reason being i still didn't upgrade to the z33 trans.

My plan right now is to Finally get the car tuned on pump and keep the boost down make around ~450whp and then get the car ready to track race. I dont want to start track racing with too much power I want to learn the car and get comfortable first.

I will be selling the s1 soon for te37's and rs-3's.

So If all goes well car will be on the dyno beginning of Sept...

Awesome. Yea, when ish happens, best to take some time away and relax. Getting burnt out sucks especially mentally. I have read on here from others who were KA then went on to something else, come back to KA cuz they loved it. Glad you stayed with Renee!

I am rocking a D21 fw with Z32 N/A clutch. It is rated for 525ft/lb tq in a Z so in a 13 it should hold more. A friend of mines has a CC Twin Disc and it holds but he removed the clutch pedal stopper because of issues. It sounds like crap when pressing the clutch way beyond disengagement like clinging cans.

Yeah when things break makes you lose interest esp. when you've been with the same car for so long LOL.

I've been reading good things about the white bunny setup so I figured it was cheap why not. Im sure ill break something when i track it so we shall see how the car holds up.

Lately ive been tossing around the idea of building a 2nd ka with 11:1 comp and running in next season for **** and giggles. I may take that on over the winter for the hell of if. I think a high compression responsive turbo ka-t would be amazing. But we shall see.

Not a huge update

Car is running great, clutch is fixed and holding up well, Power steering leak is addressed and all other small issues fixed. Finally got a chance to really open the car up on a cruise for my friends wedding. The crowd was full of exotics (lambs/ M serries/ AMG/) also some imports (rx7 supra R35) and a gt500 cobra.

I got a decent 3rd gear pull on the gt500 surprisingly i was hanging he was only about 1 car out on me if we had more room i may of reeled him in.

Cant wait to get tuned and turn the boost up. Just awaiting for my new exhaust to come in.

Yea, my wife is Trini but not hard core coolie. Mix up with chiney, Venezuelan, and Indian. Sometimes, I am more west Indian than Puerto Rican.

What year z33 tranny you got? Don't get 2003 to 2005. I read they have a sickness but '06 and up can handle 600whp easily. I have an 06' in my possession. I will only throw on if the z32 craps out and I cannot find one. My other option is to drop the KA, go VQ and aim for 1K whp via a HX55.

Haha thats been my problem I've been going out and partying to much time to buckle down and spend money of the car !

The z33 trans I have a older model. I picked it up CHEAP. It has a bad 3rd gear syncro that needs to be changed. From what ive seen this has been the only problematic part of the transmission in any year. But onces its apart I will have it all inspected and revise what ever needs to be. Im tempted to pull it apart myself..

^ This is what I would do, but first, maybe make sure doing this wouldn't effect any warranties or service guarantees the trans repair shop has on their work. Oh and maybe save anything you find loose in there.

Build is coming along great by the way!

Maybe some day I'll be able afford a wicked build like this one.
Why not keep the 240 AND simply add the fd to the collection? The weekend consists of TWO days any way.....lol.

Am I the only West Indian (Trini) not living on the East Coast.....lol

Man the car drives so much better with this new exhaust. I guess all the leaks in the old system really slowed down response. It feels alot more easy revving, maybe its because its lets restrictive. Also that last exhaust was heavy as hell, Need 2 people to carry it, The GT spec is light i can hold it up with one hand so I gained at least 15lb of weight savings.

Yup, exhaust leaks will make you hate the car. This is the main reason why I put mine down. I had a turbo gasket leak and yes I could have changed it out, but I want this new manifold on. So when I get back together, I am hoping with the longer turbo manifold, I get some spool and response. Keep up the progress man.

Looking super clean, that wheel fitment is on-point too!

I know that hurricane messed some plans up in the Northeast, but was the turnout still pretty good?

UPDATE!

finally dynoed...

Got up friday morning and make the 2hr drive to the tuner. Got there changed out my plugs went over the car and strapped her on to the dyno. The tuner Jeff evans he was pretty happy with the setup and how quick the response is with the turbo. He dialed in the 2000cc injectors perfect at idle afrs are right around 14.3-14.8, idle is at 1200 due to the fact that i do not have iacv. Did a few low power pulls off wastegate..

Right off the bat with some minor w.g. creep to 18psi (holding 15psi creeping to 18psi) at redline (7200) care made 430whp.

After realizing i forgot to install a boost solenoid and taking some time to wire one in we were back on the dyno.. We have to stop at 22psi because we were reaching the limit of 93 and my stock cam head -___-. So on a very conservative tune with ALOT more in it final numbers were...

502WHP/428FT/LB.

Image

you can see the power band is very linear. The motor has alot more in it the setup wants to keep going but I seriously need to do some major head work and switch over to e85. The tuner feels like after I do this and switch to a z33 trans we can possibly touch 800whp.

Anyway on to some pics.. BTW can someone post the Vid for me I dont know how.. here is the link:

http://vid1235.photobucket.com/albums/f ... 52h3fh.mp4

Image

Image

Image

All and all im very happy with the car and its performance. Its a blast to drive very fun. very easy to control and feels very strong up top. I cant wait to keep going forward with the car.

Some snap chat fun...

Always felt your car would make pretty darn good. Congratulations. E85 will definitely be a game changer. I didn't realize your head was stock. Did you use stainless t304 yet to make your downpipe?

Nice work. This thing is going to be a beast on E85. Please please please stick with this car/motor and don't switch to a FD. Future KA-Ters need inspiration like this!

As for posting the video, there's no easy way to post videos using the forum's current phpBB software. The best you can do with photobucket is get the full "IMG" URL from the top right corner when you are looking at your video in your photobucket account. You can then post that URL and you end up with something like this:

Image

However, clicking the image just takes you to the video on your Photobucket page. You can't view it within the forum like you can on vBulletin forums.

Thanks everyone,

I need advise on building the head,

So far i have:
supertech springs + retainers
new valve seats
bc264 cams
jwt cam gears

all ready to be installed.

1.Should I go for over sized valves, if so what size? Im going to be building another head this winter to throw on for spring. Also what can be done on porting to get the ka breathing up top.

2. I also am arp 10mm studs, since im not pulling apart the block, is there a better 10mm stud to go with?

3. Also head gasket wise can i still find a cosworth hg? I hear nothing but great things.

I don't think oversized valves will do much if anything. Better off with a re-grind / guide replacement and some nice port work.

I've got turboholic 264's
+1mm supertech valves
Supertech Dual Springs
Still missing the JWT gears though

As far as the cosworth gaskets, you can still get them via thmotorsports. I haven't been able to find a 1.1mm one but the 1.5's and 1.8's are still available. For the head studs, I'm pretty sure the 10mm ka specific studs will work just fine. All of the others (ams, rb26) require drilling the block or putting in timeserts.

Dude I am so glad to see you have this thing running and tuned. I have followed this build from the start, and copied some of your work (albeit to a lesser degree financially) And mine is sitting in a similar state yours has been in, running and not tuned. Awesome build quality
