So Preferably I would have been uploading videos as of now. What I have is two EMS V1's. I completed all the wiring for Speed density conversion + 1200cc ID's. I knew one of the ems's might be flaky. Well after a week of searching for information I'll just update you guys.

Expensive cable from newegg wouldn't communicate at all.

Not at all. ECU offline/parity error + just locking up...no priming of fuel pump (which yes I realize i might have to chase other electrical gremlins).

Both of these have KA cals loaded.

Tried another cable...found one ems that does the same everytime....moved it aside.

Other ems had a glimpse of hope and connected then locks up (over a dozen times) trying to pull the check sums from the ecu.

So it would be nice if I could atleast talk with two, what originally was $1500, computers, but I'm having no luck.

I'm using the oldest laptop I still have on Windows 7 64 bit, but I'm scratching my head now that I can connect to one of the ems's, but I can't pull any data.

As far as I know theres still maybe 1 company repairing them, or...wise advisors...do I just throw it aside and go megasquirt or similar?

If you still have a stock engine harness a MS PNP isn't a bad way to go, that's what i'm currently running. For a couple hundred bucks more you could get a basic Haltech or ECU Master setup, I'm switching to a ECU master this winter. Any of those 3 are good options, you'll need to swap the trigger disc if you go with the MS ecu

So an update. I sent one of the ems's out to like the last guy that'll work on them. EPROM was bad. Reburned and after my bud recommended a problem free cable I can talk to the computer. And only now do I realize how much of a headache the series 1 is when the forums have been deleted and converting to MAP all in the same shot. I will be updating this post with info and putting a post in the ECU section for the guy that checked over the EMS. I was very worried about sending it out, but it worked out okay.

I hate the software, the scaling, and pretty much everything about this and will probably go megasquirt anyways and use the ems on another car.

I'll keep digging for you man. Really sucks how AEM just decided to stop supporting one of their legacy products. I have been thrilled with the MS so far and there is tons of room for growth. Can't wait to see it up and running again after all this time. Last memory I have of it is rolling the fenders with you out in my dad's shop.
