Importdude's build 2.0- 14 year come back

Post by importdude »

Old 14yr 1st build > viewtopic.php?t=37638

My First build netted
~380whp 360tq >viewtopic.php?f=3&t=44599

Its always gotta be more 2nd time around right?

Its Been a Long time. About 14 years. A few months after finishing my build and enjoying the car the clutch slipped and wouldn't hold 18psi. I was going to get a 350z clutch in there, but I got stopped by a cop (CA) and they gave me a state ref. At that moment, I was done with racing, I was tired of the car stuff. So I sold EVERY MOD and put the car back to stock. Gave the car to my brother to Drive as a daily. Fast forward a few years he got another DD and I said okay i'm taking the 240sx back. Its been parked since. Never really had a urge to Mod it back but knew I would never sell it. Well....come 2019 and I Decided to build a track street car. I started ordering parts as I see. Well now Here we are . 2022

Like the past build, Machine shop did the machine work and I assembled it myself

What I can tell you is as time goes by, Your skills and ability will always carry you to be better. This is what it is so far. Still deciding on a few factors like ECU, Cams, ect

Pictures don't work, but i'm excited to see. Also, I'm a current AEM V2 owner, and if my AEM died today, I'd probably go with a LINK instead of replacing it with another V2

Welcome back!

I don't think you can attach photos through google like that. Get those pictures to work we want to see!

It's crazy that your old car is still around. With my luck after being loaned out it was not coming back.

And I hear ya about being done with racing. I was pretty lucky many times way back then. It helps to have friends that help you out of a jam too!

What model MSPNP Gen2? We have three for various KA24DE cars:

1989-1994 https://www.diyautotune.com/product/meg ... ual-trans/

1995 240sx (and 95-97 Sentra/200sx/Altima) https://www.diyautotune.com/product/meg ... ual-trans/

1996-1998 240sx https://www.diyautotune.com/product/meg ... ual-trans/

And is this the trigger wheel you're using? https://www.diyautotune.com/product/50- ... or-ka24de/

I wanna make sure you get it sorted out, and I can point our support guys this way if needed!

As a UPDATE.

July 2022 when cruising I somehow spun a bearing #4. This was going 60mph and barely any throttle
I disassembled the block and found #3/4 rod bearing heated and fused to the crank.
Not Sure what happened, but I'm thinking the machine shop did not check the bearings and or bent crank (shop was suppose to balance mic spec it all out)

I went and grab a spare Block and put in some spare new CP/arias pistons I had laying around. Added some more goodies. Also went with another machine shop that is more meticulous on the build.

Its Now

89.5 CP Arias sc7300 9.0.1 - 1st ring .019 2nd ring .021
Eagle rods
Race ACL STD main .002 and rod bearings .015
Tomei Cam gears at zero
Tomei pon-cams
Denso K24 Coils
BW S257sxe with T3 .82 housing
MSpnp2

results are
518whp 471wtq on E85
22psi

I think the cams are moving the Full spool alittle too much. I Will go in for cam tuning to try to move it sooner.
Engine wants to keep reving 7400 and the hp still not droping!!!!! Engine Has ZERO LIFT on 10mm studs with the washer. Engine just wants more power!

But since i'm on stock springs I will only rev out to 6800-7200

I ran out of injector for now(85%). I do not want to raise Fuel pressure past 55.

I'm happy at the power now, But If i find a good deal for 1700x I will shoot for maybe 600whp for **** and giggles

That seems like a fairly stout set up, I wish E85 was more readily available in my area.
Tough to find a good deal on a set of new ID injectors, as they're a map restricted brand.
