Welded my diff today!

Post by sil-coupe »

I got to set some house projects aside today and partook in "Garage Monday" at my friends shop, Champagne Motorsports Research.
I welded my differential. What do you guys think?

I've gotta look into the fsm about how to correct sloppy gear mesh. Clean up, get fluid, and a new front diff seal then install.
I got to help with a s14 RHD conversion using an s15 firewall and dash. I also finally got to work on my ae86 gts coupe. The poor car has been sitting at CMR for 4 months with no love. Obtained from my hoarder neighbor, and now a joint project with Joe at CMR. It sat under garbage for 22 years! 67,000 original miles! It was a great day and Garage Mondays must continue!

Cool man, looks good. What's Garage Mondays? A shop lets you come in and use their equipment for projects or what?

Thanks!

Mondays are my vacation from the house projects, chores, and normal bs. Myself and a few friends generally have Mondays off. A good friend Joe Champagne ( https://m.facebook.com/?_rdr#!/Champagn ... tsresearch ) runs a fab shop(CMR) in a rented garage with a 70' driveway. On Mondays its generally our own projects that we work on, unless he needs help or is behind on customer cars, in that case we help him knock out the work. Its like free labor for the use of shop space and tools in return.
