any one here have hydrodipping setups?

Post by beercandrifter »

I am curious if anyone on the board messes with hydro dipping. Would love to see some setups and different things that have been dipped.

I don't personally have one, but I went with one of my buddies to pick up a gun he had done in camo and saw that there was not a whole lot to the guy's shop. It was just a shed really with a bathtub in it, where he dipped the parts. He also had an airbrush to touch up errors, and a regular paint gun to clear over the stuff. Its a very simple process, the biggest limitation is having enough water to fit what you want to dip.

Did it in my back porch. Compressor, cheap Sata gun, and a container from Home Depot for water. Activator from ebay "Hydrovator". Graphics from Amazon.
Urethane based sealer primer, Urethane white, Limco clear.

Got a matching grip royal steering wheel too. Was gonna do the charge pipes later.
