So I received an intercooler for free...

Post by Alonso »

This is more of a response to sdaigle240. I do metal work all day errday but something about cameras and taking pictures of parts and welds in the shop is frowned upon because of contracts or some ****. Whatever!

I was gifted this front mount Intercooler by a friend, that he got from a friend, and who knows where the ***** he got it from. Regardless it looked rough as *****. As my buddy walked up to hand it to me, I immediately identified the core as a legit Garrett bar and plate core. The core measures 24x12x3.5in, it's worth about $400 and is rated for 800hp. Score!

The fmic sat on my garage floor for several months and I finally decided to something with. Keep an eye for updates...

i dont even remember what i said but im interested to see where this is going. prob something along your welding cert? we weld (electron beam) to d17.1 regularly as well so i understand the confidentiality issues with taking pictures and all that.

I'll just be modding an intercooler that I snagged off of an Evo to begin my project. Keep the updates coming please.

This project has been shelved so I can concentrate on my fastback. You know, the one with the divided T4 setup in that other thread...

I'll post pics soon of what little work I did to the core.
