04 NAVARA

Post by Bigcam »

Thought it was about time I posted a few pics of my build. It's an 04 Navara ( Frontier ) dual cab.

Rebuilt the original engine with,
crower rods
wiseco pistons
acl bearings
kelford cams
.040" mls gasket
GTX3076 Gen2 garrett turbo
960cc injectors
45mm wastegate.
I built my own stainless exhaust manifold and 3" full flow exhaust system after finding the ports on the cx racing one I bought weren't even close to being the right size! Using the stock intake manifold and slightly modified original airbox ( flexible intake piping is removed in photos ). I'm using a boost referenced fpr and a Megasquirt MS3/3X for engine control. Swapped the washer bottle with the earlier model one which mounts on the inner guard so I could run the front mounted intercooler piping through the radiator support panel. Also moved the battery to the tray, which gave me room to mount the remote oil filter/brake vacuum pump/radiator overflow bottle and intercooler piping. For the crankcase ventilation I joined the pcv(check valve removed) and tappet cover breathers into a baffled catchcan which goes to the turbo side of the airfilter. It has a tap so it can be drained. It has a water/meth system (not currently in use ).

I can't login to my ka-t account but come also jump onto the ClubFrontier forum. https://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/
Edit: Because the ka-t forum is somewhat very dead. Lot's of good frontier/d22 information!
Send me a message on clubfrontier and we can exchange ideas :)

Any updates on this? always rare to see another ka-t in Australia!
