93 Boosted 4x4 project

Post by Myst69 »

Hello all I’m new to the website so I will be transferring most of this from my forum over on Infamous. Just curious about tuning etc. I’m new to forced induction but not so much Nissans and hardbody’s to be exact:

Hello y’all this is my first thread other than my intro post. Im fairly new to the scene but I know at least a little bit from reading up around the site. I’d like to start with a mild build just to get comfortable probably 250whp or under. So far I’ve got a custom intercooler installed in front of my radiator, I picked up a holset hx35w that I may or may not try to utilize, a rev9 cast iron top mount manifold, an aer wideband o2 sensor kit, other gauges and a handful of other little parts and pieces. I wanted to get opinions on fmu’s and intake solutions ohh and possibly boost controller info. Since I’m a bit green still I was curious if I can use this holset if my wastegate and bov are adequate? Thanks for any direction it is greatly appreciated, the truck is a red hardbody 4X4 powered by the outstanding ka24e engine with about 212k miles on it. Thanks again 👍

This is my budget turbo setup. Rebuilt the hx35w holset with a turbo lab kit so it’s like new, still considering welding the internal wastegate shut so feel free to let me know if you think that’s a bad idea.

Make sure when you are hosting pictures it's from a secure site (https). Unless you do that they don't show up.

Thanks for the heads up, every one of these forum sites has some strange rule. I’m assuming there is no way to upload directly from a device right? I’m sure I will figure it out soon lol

heres my truck, it was on its way to the scrapper because insurance considered it a “total loss” because of a very small fender-bender. Those insurance companies are straight up crooks and should be held accountable for costing people millions, if not billions of dollars. Of course this is just my personal belief/view and if you work for an insurance company please disregard this message

Well regardless of pics showing up or not I just bolted the head back on with new gasket, iridium plugs, valve stem seals etc. this weekend fresh oil change and I’ll be flirting with the idea of plugging in my new mspnp v2 and turbo manifold assembly. Getting pretty excited.

The hosting site needs to be "https" to use the image tags but you might be able to upload as an attachment to your post if that is easier for you. I guess we need to update some information on this board.

How to attach is shown using the attachment feature:

Intercooler fits snuggly in front of the radiator.

Well this where I’m at, I need to get the exhaust situated and oil return from the turbo welded to the oil pan. There is this goofy little vacuum solenoid/switch that is right in the way of my turbo and I’m not sure if it’s a critical system or not, i will take a picture of the vacuum related components that I am confused about removing or leaving attached later. So far what I’ve gathered is the brake booster and fuel regulator need vacuum but I’m not sure what else.

Not even sure but are these pics visible to everyone else? I noticed on the other forum posts there are very little pictures that are actually visible.I got a replacement hood that still had these stickers stuck to it which I thought was pretty cool. Anyone want to tell me which of these vacuums can be removed without to much hassle lol, I’m so tired of working around these damn lines I’m probably going to rip all of it out.
