Am I wiring my LS2 coils up properly

Post by drewssc400 »

I am using the MS II V3 board. Car is a 97 KA24DE. Using 4 coils for a wasted spark setup. I'm using this picture for reference and I'm not sure where (C) on the coil plug should go....

Image

(A) on all 4 coils grounded to the manifold.
(B) from coils 1&4 will go to pin 36 on the DB37 connector.
(B) from coils 2&3 will go to pin 6 on the DB37 connector.
(C) ??????
(D) +12V from the fuel pump relay or other switched +12V source.

Thanks!

I think I found my answer

(A) Goes to ground (intake manifold)
(B) Ground all 4 coils to pin 8 on DB37 connector
(C) Coils 1&4 to pin 36 on DB37 connector
(C) Coils 2&3 to pin 6 on DB37 connector
(D) +12V switched connection, probably from fuel pump relay

Thanks!

I just wired mine up. I have thought about this but never had an issue with noise.

It's usually not a big deal. A bigger deal is that I recommend grounding the LS1 coils to the cylinder head, separately from the ECU.

Correct Matt. I have the stock harness for the coils and one is grounded to head and other to MS. I have my coils hooked up to a relay for 12v as well.
