Idle air control valve

Post by snuffy »

Mine seems to be finally going out and I was wondering if anyone had one for sale or knows a way to run the car without it. If i need to reroute anything or just simply unplug it. I have already taken it off and cleaned it ( it was dirty as *****) and installed a new gasket and still nothing.

I removed mine on a ka24de, can't imagine it's much different for the ka24e.

I
- Welded any smaller connections for iacv on intake manifold shut.
- For openings iacv "box" I couldn't weld shut, I used jb weld on others, then put it back on intake manifold.
- Open throttle plate a tiny bit with set screws
- Adjust TPS sensor until voltage is in correct range

For tuning I bumped up ignition a few degrees under where I wanted it to idle. That way when idle rpm falls it hits a little more timing and then idle rpm bumps up again. Was easier then it sounds.

Only thing that was really tricky was getting cold starts with no peddle pressing working reliably. That's more about tuning tables like cold start enrichment.
